Urban/Rural Planning & Social Sciences Department is dealing with multi-disciplinary fields that come from diverse disciplinary backgrounds including architecture, communication, public policy, sociology and psychology. 

The Urban - Rural Planning & Social Sciences Department has cultivated long-standing relationships with industry partners, government agencies, and community-based organizations. The Urban - Rural Planning & Social Sciences Department is active in investigation, analysis and evaluation and works on developing plans, programs and strategies, co-design, co-creation, co-implementation activities.

The staff is specialised in urban, regional planning and social science and is collaborating with both public administration (municipalities, regions, authorities) and in the private sector and other organizations that are involved in planning in Europe or internationally.

The Urban - Rural Planning & Social Sciences Department staff includes one Urban and Rural planner, one Landscape Planner, one Psychologist and one Environmental Planner and there is a strong collaboration with internationally successful researchers, who work in research projects in urban, regional planning and social science, or linked to planning. The projects of Urban - Rural Planning & Social Sciences Department deal with challenges for urban and regional contexts in Cyprus, Europe and other parts of the world.
